School closes as flood battle continues

A school has been closed down and more families evacuated as Manitoba’s largest flood ever continues.
Provincial officials confirmed Wawanesa School has been closed due to water in the crawl space. Students have been moved to various locations throughout the town of Wawanesa. They are expected to return to the school Monday.
In St. Lazare, three more familes have been evacuated due to homes experiencing basement seepage despite the protective ring dikes.
The Red River and Assiniboine River are now again projected to crest at the same time in Winnipeg on April 30.
Shellmouth Reservoir was expected to overflow late Wednesday.
