Lori Jeffrey-Heaney has moved from small-village politics to the big city, where she is fighting for a seat in Ward 8.
Advance polling stations will be open for voting on Oct. 9, so candidates are scrambling to get their positions out.
After it was decided that the hot issue of the City Centre Airport would not be made available for citizens to vote on, Jeffrey-Heaney has been focusing on her neighbourhood revitalization stance.
Thursday evening she made an appearance in the library of McNally high school.
The main issue to be addressed was the potential closure of schools in her district. Schools could be closed as students are relocated to other areas.
Edmonton Public Schools have created workshops to discuss the issue.
