School’s out! Police step up youth offence efforts

Ottawa police and city bylaw officers teamed up this year in an effort to monitor end-of-school-year activities involving youth.

The Tequila Sunrise Initiative increased proactive patrols in the west end of the city between June 8 and 15, charging a number of youths with a variety of offences under the Liquor License Act, the Trespass to Property Act and applicable city bylaws.

Officers also seized alcohol, drugs and contraband cigarettes.
