Every year, the Oxford Dictionary, the gold standard of the English language, either gets a little more ridiculous or a little more inclusive, depending on how you look at it. On the one hand, do words like “totes” and “hot mess” really have a place in the dictionary? But on the other, shouldn’t all the widely words we use be in there, at the very least so we can justify using them during a game of Scrabble?

Regardless of where you stand on the debate, a crop of new words has been added to the Oxford Dictionary. Below, we highlight a few:

e-cig
FLOTUS
go-for-broke
half-ass
hard rocker
hot mess
interweb
jeggings
retweet
sext
shizzle
totes
twerking
