Police have charged a man in connection to a road rage fight that left one man hospitalized from a severe beating.

Sharon resident Alexander Nguyen, 21, pleaded not guilty at his Monday arraignment where he was accused of beating and threatening to kill a man during a June 12 road rage confrontation while the victim’s two children watched, CBS Boston reported.

Nguyen, who turned himself in to police on Saturday – six days after the incident, was charged with assault and battery with serious bodily injury, threats to kill, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, according to MassLive.

Nguyen and the victim were in traffic when Nguyen allegedly got out of his car and punched the other driver 20 times, knocking him unconscious, after being upset about the speed at which the victim was driving, according to CBS Boston. He also allegedly threatened to kill the victim, whose children were in the car.

“It certainly wasn’t a one-way attack. I’m not going to get into what my client says or didn’t say about what happened, but, according to the witness, it was not simply an attack,” Nguyen’s attorney, David Jellinek, told CBS Boston.
