Parking on Vancouver’s busiest streets has become a bit easier thanks to 300 new solar-powered meters that accept direct credit card payments.
The machines — which have been installed along South Granville and in parts of downtown — allow users to park for up to four hours on weekends, and notify users when parking is prohibited.
Isabel Bennett used a new meter for the first time yesterday, and said the direct credit card payment option is more convenient than calling in.
But she added it would be nice if the machine displayed prices for each quarter hour.
