Sherrod asked back following backlash

WASHINGTON. A woman forced to resign yesterday from her position at the USDA over a controversy involving alleged racism and a video posted to conservative media outlets has been asked to return to a new “unique” position, the Associated Press reports.

The Obama administration asked the forgiveness of Shirley Sherrod, who caused a media firestorm over an admission that she had once — prior to her government employment — acted biased against a white farmer. Sherrod explained her admission was made in the spirit of reconciliation.

After the dust settled it became apparent that the video was edited, and posted, specifically to stoke partisan squabbling and racial hatred.
