Siemens makes 32 saves, Warriors beat Broncos

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Luke Siemens made 32 saves and the Moose Jaw Warriors extended their lead atop the East Division standings with a 3-0 win over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.

Siemens improved to 23-9-5 and now had three shutouts on the season and five during his career.

Moose Jaw improved to 29-14-6, moving them five points up on the second place Saskatoon Blades in the East Division standings.

Moose Jaw overage forward Kenton Miller opened the scoring with his 17th of the season during a first period power play.

Justin Kirsch scored this 16th of the year during a four on four in the second period to extend the Warriors’ lead to 2-0.

Cam Braes added his team-leading 28th of the campaign with 5:06 left in regulation.

Broncos netminder Jon Groenheyde fell to 15-19-5 after yielding three goals on 42 shots.

Swift Current, losers of three straight, fell to 18-25-5 and remain fifth in the East Division standings.
