Having a dance party in your head? Looking for like minded individuals?

There’s a chance you might find them at the Floating Silent Dance Party hosted by Disc Jockey Boston on May 28. When they say “silent,” they mean attendees will preload their phones with a custom dance mix released before the event and hit play at the same time. Everyone will wear headphones and — in theory — be grooving in unison. The “floating” part comes into play when guests are led from the meeting point at Brewer Fountain in Boston Common while shaking their bonbons to additional locations. Guests hit “play” on thefirst 45-minute track starting at 8 p.m.

The event coincides with the timing of Newmindspace’s Cats in Space “fan-run” to benefit Make-A-Wish that is also taking place on the Commons. The Space Battle run puts glowing lightsaber-ish swords in the hands of fundraisers (you get a neon baton for every $10 you contribute) and two sides — good or evil, duh — will duke it out before taking charge of the park around 9 p.m.

What will happen if the two events collide? Probably awesomeness. But we’ll have to wait until May 28 to find out.
