SixtyFive Bar and Cocktail Lounge is NYC’s new highest rooftop bar

There are rooftop bars, and then there is Rockefeller Center’sSixtyFive, named for the floor it sits on, which just opened its outdoor terrace for cocktails and wine.It sits just one story below the observation deck and charges no cover, so keep that one in your back pocket the next time you’ve got out-of-town guests.

Small plates likefish tacos, wagyu sliders and a Parmesan pizzawill set you back about $20 each (there’s also sushi and desserts— the Passion Fruit Marshmallow is like a bite of spring). C ocktails are near ly all north of that, but stick to the menu: the Piquant Pear was bright and spicy, but a companion’s mojito bore no resemblance to its usual self, and not in a good way.

But rooftop terraces come down to the view, and the Terrace at SixtyFive has exactly what you need if you’re going through a Joan Didion phase with the city. It’s not much spendier than the rest of Midtown, and worth it to sit on top of the entire city with a drink in your hand.
