Skating rink, holiday market coming to City Hall Plaza
City of Boston

Come next month, Boston’s City Hall Plaza will be transformed into a winter wonderland.

Billed as “Boston’s ultimate holiday destination,” Boston Winter will feature a holiday shopping market and a nearly 11,000-square-foot outdoor ice skating path.

The transformation is a part of Mayor Marty Walsh’s commitment to creating a City Hall that is both vibrant and welcoming to all.

Anchored by New England’s first custom-designed Skating Path and a holiday shopping market, “Boston Winter presented by Berkshire Bank” will open to the public Dec. 2 and operate seven days a week. The boutique shopping market, which will feature local vendors like Boston Olive Oil Company, Etsy Artists of Boston, LovePop and The Grommet, will close New Year’s Eve. The skating rink will remain through February.

The plaza will be free, but some ticketed events will be held.
