Sled Island edits posters after complaints about band name

Calgary’s Sled Island Festival organizers said they will print edited versions of their event poster in the wake of public controversy over a profanity used on the advertisement.

Festival director Zakary Pashak said the manager of Kane’s Harley Diner took offence to the name of a band printed on the poster, Holy F—, and removed the ad from her establishment.

“We’re not reprinting new posters but the next batch of posters will be edited. I think it’s an interesting public debate on censorship,” he said, adding he wasn’t aware of many other people offended.
