Snowblower uncovers dead body in Lynn

A man using a snowblower to clear a path early Monday morning in Lynn uncovered a homicide, police said.

The discovery was made around 5 a.m. according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.

The victim, identified as Carlos Aponte, 38, had visible injuries to his upper chest and lower neck, officials said.

Authorities are awaiting the medical examiner’s report to determine actual cause of death, said prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Carrie Kimball Monahan.

The investigation is ongoing.
