From Ethiopia to the Middle East to Korea — this casual Quinpool Road location has hosted several cuisines.

The current restaurant features Korean food — pork, beef, chicken and seafood dishes. The menu also has sushi rolls, noodle soups, and teriyaki — beef, chicken, salmon and shrimp.

My friend and I share Fried Dumplings — five golden brown and crispy with a mild but nice vegetable filling. We also try two dishes from the Korean Cuisines section. Soon Du Bu Tziggae is a stew with uncurdled tofu, seafood, vegetables and pork.

It’s steaming hot and a little bit spicy. With loads of tofu and an egg, it’s a filling stew with great flavour.

Kim Chi Tziggae, a stew based on kimchi — the Korean fermented cabbage condiment — and pork. It has one serious kick.

The place is full and service is fast and pleasant. Song’s seems to have struck the right note.
