Sony leak: The Amy Pascal apology tour continues

With more leaked emails hitting the Web every day, it should come as no surprise that Sony chief Amy Pascal gathered her employees this week at the studio’s Culver City, California lot to address the ongoing hacking scandal. And it also shouldn’t come as a surprise that we know about the apology because someone snuck out audio of it. “It devastates me that something I did or said in a second would hurt any one of you and for that I am profoundly sorry,” a “near tears” Pascal told staffers during a pair of meetings Monday, according to the Hollywood Reporter. At least one employee seemed mollified, telling the trade, “Amy made what sounded like a serious apology.”

Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton also addressed the assembled employees.“I am incredibly sorry that you had to go through this,”Lyntonsaid. “I realize the last few weeks have been incredibly stressful for all of us. What has occurred at Sony is a systematic criminal attack on our staff and business.” Lynton went on to praise Sony’s “strong economic foundation,” promising that “this won’t take us down.”
