Anatole Abang has a new home, the Cameroonian international mostly recently in Denmark with Hobro by way of the New York Red Bulls has landed in Finland.

A league source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, tells Metro New York that Abang is set to join Finnish club SJK. The move to the Finnish top-flite is a welcome bit of news after his previous loan stint in Denmark was cut short. Abang is coming off two years with the Red Bulls where playing time was hard to come by but where he shone in his stints with the first team as well as in the USL with New York Red Bulls II.

Abang burst onto the scene with the Red Bulls in 2015, making 17 appearances and scoring four goals in just 392 minutes of league action.

The loan runs the same exact length of time as his previous deal with Hobro, meaning that Abang’s new deal in Finland will expire at the end of the year and will run the full season in Finland. Like MLS, Finland’s season runs from spring to fall.

Set to turn 21-years old this summer, Abang has already made six appearances for Cameroon’s national team.
