A man who killed his mother and took a selfie with her severed head received the maximum sentence for her murder.

Bahsid McLean, 26, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison Monday for killing his mother, Tanya Byrd, in their apartment on Feb. 25, 2013.

McLean took a selfie with his 52-year-old mother’s decapitated head before disposing of her body parts around their Morrisania neighborhood, according to court testimony.

“This is a man who just committed one of the most callous homicides I’ve ever been a part of in my career,” said Bronx prosecutor Aaron Kaplan.

McLean’s lawyer, Lynn Calvacca, said incarcerating her client in state prison “in no way has the ability to help” him because he suffers from schizophrenia and a bipolar and personality disorder.

The sentence was handed down after McLean’s sister, aunt and grandfather made statements to the court and McLean issued an apology.

“What I did to my mother was uncalled for,” McLean said. “I live with that. Whatever sentence y’all give me doesn’t matter — it was something that happened. I did it.”
