The owner of a British bulldog found with a painful skin condition in Surrey is being sought by the B.C. SPCA.
The animal is missing most of the hair on his body, his skin is raw and his back and neck are covered in bulbous scabs.
“He would feel like his skin is on fire,” Eileen Drever, senior animal protection officer, said. “It’s beyond me how someone would allow an animal to suffer like this.”
Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, guardians are required to provide adequate veterinary care, and to not permit animals to be in pain, suffer or be neglected.
