Speed leads to charges: Mounties

Some Nova Scotia motorists are driving fast and furious this summer.

Last weekend, RCMP charged five people with stunting (travelling in excess of 50 km/h above the posted speed limit) on Highway 104 in Cumberland County.

Motorists caught stunting automatically lose their licence for one week, said RCMP Const. Steve Squires.

The minimum fine is $2,410, and on the third offence, stunting fines can reach more than $11,000.
