Thousands of Roman Catholics will attend Madison Square Garden at 6 p.m. to celebrate mass, where Jennifer Hudson, Gloria Estefan, Kelli O’Hara, Harry Connick Jr., Martin Sheen, Norm Lewis and othe and others will perform before His Holiness arrives.

Native New Yorker and ultimate Knicks fan Spike Lee will also be in attendance for the celebration.

In a post to his Instagram, Spike Lee urged Pope Francis to say a prayer for the Knicks. He hopes to meet him and deliver the message in person.

The Knicks could use more than a prayer. Last year the orange and blue squad had only 17 wins all season. Let’s hope the pontiff blesses the Knicks’ locker room with a miracle. Prayers up.
