Sports anchor tries to make name by mentioning WWE wrestlers 31 times during clips

For years, half-hour local news broadcasts have continually cut the amount of time they devote to sports. Sure, sports are popular. But most TV execs believe people would rather hear about royal babies, weather, Kim K., Amanda Bynes, weather, Simon Cowell’s baby mama, trucks crashing into Dunkin’ Donuts shops and weather over a five minute Red Sox-Blue Jays highlight complete with postgame press conference sound.

Consider WHAS-Louisville’s Adam Lefkoe a renaissance man. He is attempting to reel the viewers back in with some old fashioned name dropping. He can get away with it too. Unlike the “Boom Goes the Dynamite” kid, Lefkoe is polished. Either he’s auditioning for a lucrative WWE announcing contract or he just doesn’t give a damn any more. Either way, what he does above is more than admirable. Lefkoe breaks Bob Lobel’s longstanding Guiness World Record of most pro wrestlers named in one sportscast by dropping 31 names from the squared circle’s past.

There’s no doubt that Lefkoe displays a tremendous amount of (Owen) Hart in this clip. He’s by all accounts the Total Package (Lex Luger) and he absolutely deserves a hearty (Dino) Bravo for his efforts.
