93.7 FM WEEI host Mike Mutnansky gave Metro his take on the rankings of the Top 12 Boston sports teams of the past 12 years. You can listen to Mut on pre, post and in-game broadcasts for Red Sox baseball on the WEEI Red Sox Radio Network.

Which team was ranked too low and why?
Holy moly. Did Matt Burke sleep through the Patriots 2001 season? They won with a Year 2 Tom Brady. Beat the unbeatable Steelers on the road, then the Greatest Show on Turf … ON TURF in the Super Bowl. And it started a dynasty. Way too low at No. 8.

Which team was ranked too high and why?
The 2007 Red Sox. I’d have them behind the 2013 Red Sox team. Last year’s turnaround from 2012 was something.

Which team was snubbed from landing in the top 12?
That 2008 Red Sox team would be a tough team for me to leave out. A Josh Beckett injury away from getting back to the World Series.

Other observations
Debating the BEST teams … Boston sports fan problems.
