Zombies will continue their search for brains for at least one more season on AMC.
"Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew ‘The Walking Dead’ for a third season on AMC," said Charlie Collier, AMC president, in a statement released on Tuesday.
The pickup comes as the zombie drama continues to draw unprecedented ratings. The Season 2 premiere and its encore airing were watched by more than 11 million viewers, breaking cable records.
Based on the comic book series from Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, "The Walking Dead" follows a group of humans struggling to survive post-zombie apocalypse.
