Baltimore fans vs. Boston fans: A week of trash-talk

Ravens special teamer Brendon Ayanbadejo began the trash talk on Sunday.

It seems both the New England and Baltimore fan bases are more than capable of wrapping up the week with banter of their own.

Several billboards along I-93 in Boston have a countdown in sequence with the time of kickoff Sunday (6:30 p.m.) that read: “Ray’s Retirement Party,” in reference to the fact that the Patriots could effectively end Ray Lewis’ career Sunday with a win. Lewis has said this season is his “last ride.”

Baltimore has responded with a catchy, albeit dated music video called “Bring on Brady” to the tune of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” video.

Of course, Boston Mayor Tom Menino has weighed in. And, of course, he’s mispronouncing the names of Boston sports stars … again. Look for Vince Wilcock to have a huge game this Sunday and for the Patriots passing game to thrive despite the absence of Gonk.
