Gene Goodreault, an All-American football player at Boston College in the 1930s and ’40s, died this week, the school announced yesterday.
He was 92.

Goodreault, an end, was a consensus All-American in 1940, and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1982. His number has been retired at the Heights since 2001.
Goodreault was drafted by the Lions but skipped the NFL to serve in the Navy during World War II.
