Only the Golden State Warriors can manage to troll LeBron James … even in the offseason. Here are Basketball betting NBA odds 2019 NBA title and more. The very next day after it was initially reported last month that King James would be leaving Cleveland to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors responded by shockingly announcing that they’ll be inking center DeMarcus Cousins to a shrewd one-year, $5.3 million deal. By unceremoniously declaring ‘Welcome to the West, LeBron,’ the Warriors enter another season as the favorite to win the NBA title.

The Warriors were arguably the frontrunner to win the championship without the astute, yet cold-blooded signing of “Boogie.” With it, the back-to-back defending champion have a starting lineup of All-Stars in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Cousins —albeit, the center will be looking to regain his form, coming off of Achilles surgery. Still, who’s going to stop this Warriors’ contingent from pulling off a three-peat?

Well, the Houston Rockets did have the Warriors reeling and on the ropes with a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Finals this past postseason, before Golden State rallied to defeat them. It has been widely reported that Carmelo Anthony will sign a one-year, veteran’s minimum with the Rockets to join Chris Paul and 2017-18 NBA MVP James Harden. Could Melo be the difference needed to push the Rockets over the top in the West? We’ll see.

Of course, there’s LeBron and the new-look Lakers, who have surrounded themselves with gritty players such as Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley and JaVale McGee in addition to the King James’ signing. They’ll be joining promising players such as Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma. Could they legitimately contend with the Warriors in James’s first year in Purple and Gold?

Out in the East, the Boston Celtics came within minutes of defeating James and his then-Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, before being eliminated in Game 7. But that was without All-Stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward, who were recovering from surgeries. With them back and healthy — and James no longer in the East — one would have to think that Boston should get to the NBA Finals. But whether they can get there and possibly challenge the Warriors or Rockets remains to be seen.

With all this being said, it’s never too early to lay down some odds for the upcoming season. And sure enough, BetOnline.AG did just that for the early favorite to win the 2018-19 NBA championship.
