As usual, sportsbooks are offering a multitude of prop bets on all things relating to the Super Bowl. Metro Bet continues its examination of some of the smartest, and the strangest, props being offered for Super Bowl LIII here.
Most pass attempts: Tom Brady +0.5 (EVEN), Jared Goff -0.5 (-120)
Quarterbacks Tom Brady and Jared Goff were very close to one another in total pass attempts during the regular season, with the former dropping back just nine more times (570-561). But in the playoffs, Brady has been throwing more times than ever, outpacing Goff 90-68.
Despite that mark, Goff is the favorite to throw the most passes in Super Bowl LIII. This is probably because his team is the underdog, and many people think that the two-time Pro Bowler will need to throw it often in the fourth quarter to try and make a comeback while the Patriots would attempt to run out the clock. However, there’s a solid case to be made for L.A., so bet on Brady to be the one in “desperation mode” late and eclipse Goff in total pass attempts.

C.J. Anderson rushing yards: Over 41.5 (-108), Under 41.5 (-118)
A few weeks ago, it would have been nearly impossible to envision C.J. Anderson playing in the Super Bowl, as he was sitting on his couch. Yet here he is assuming the role of three-time Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley while the latter apparently nurses an unknown injury.
Anderson exits his weakest performance as a Ram to date, rushing for just 44 yards (still over the listed total here) on 16 carries against New Orleans. But the Saints were the best in the NFL at stopping the run this season. The Patriots were a respectable eighth against the ground game but still allowed over 100 rushing yards per contest. Anderson, who had a three-game streak of 100 or more rushing yards snapped two weeks ago, should establish himself early and frustrate New England throughout.
The play: C.J. Anderson Over 41.5 rushing yards (-108)
James White rushing and receiving yards: Over 66.5 (-108), Under 66.5 (-118)
It’s no secret that James White is a frequent target out of the backfield for Brady. In fact, the tail back has been targeted 146 times this season, with 23 of those occurring in the postseason alone. Of White’s 1,326 rushing and receiving yards this year, 897 of them came through the air.
Unfortunately for him and New England, the Rams’ defense is quite resilient when it comes to stopping running backs in the passing game. L.A. allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards to running backs this season (477, or 29.8 yards per game). White averaged just 73.7 rushing and receiving yards per game this year, so it seems like the Under is destined to cash here.
