Sports betting continues to flourish in New Jersey.

Having already established 888casino and 888poker, 888 Holdings has launched 888sport.com for online sports gambling in The Garden State.

In partnership with sportsbook provider Kambi, people in New Jersey can enjoy 888 Holdings newest launch across their desktop, mobile and tablet devices. The platform will allow players to play poker and casino games, while betting on sporting events via a single login and one uniform money pot. Pretty nifty.

"The launch of 888sport.com in New Jersey is a major milestone for the company in our ongoing expansion across the regulated US online gaming market and provides 888 with a unique and truly multi-product proposition in what is currently the largest regulated US state,” 888 Holdings CEO Itai Frieberger said, as reported by InterGameOnline.com.

During a phone interview with Bloomberg earlier this week David Rebuck, the director of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Entertainment, not only predicted that the state’s sports-gambling revenue will surpass that of Nevada by 2020, but he also stated that seven companies are already authorized to participate in legalized sports betting, with an eighth expected later in the week. Could this have been the company he was referring to?

This announcement will additionally allow 888 to increase its foothold in the U.S.

Frieberger added, as reported by InterGameOnline: “888 has been committed to developing its position in the US since launching in Nevada, the first regulated US state, nearly six years ago and today we are the only operator with a presence in all three regulated US states. We now have our sport, casino and poker products all operational in the US and are continually developing our proposition, brands and technology to ensure that the group remains exceptionally well positioned to capture the potentially significant future growth opportunities as new regulation allows."

The news about 888sport.com’s launch came preceded an Associated Press story, which reported that New Jersey tallied upwards of $95 million in sports betting for the month of August. Of that amount, the AP said that about $74 million was gambled at physical sportsbooks, while $21.7 million was wagered online and/or via mobile apps.

Now, just imagine what numbers this month, with the official start of the 2018 NFL season, will look like. Or better yet, October, when both the NFL and NBA are in full motion.
