“LeBron Mania” began at 12:01 Thursday, opening the door for potential suitors to woo LeBron James away from his hometown Cavaliers. Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson and Paul Pierce also hit the open market and are pretty attractive consolation prizes for any team with deep enough pockets.
While the Bulls, Heat, Cavaliers, Nets and Knicks have emerged as the favorites to land James, a summit between Wade, Bosh and James reportedly took place last Monday. If the Heat can find a trading partner for former No. 2 pick Michael Beasley, the franchise would have enough cap space to sign all three superstars.
Of course, James’ final destination is anyone’s guess. But New York City’s famed Carnegie Deli has already named a sandwich after him — the “LeBron MVP.” Just saying.
