Bruins batter Toronto again

Mark Recchi scored two goals in the final three minutes, including an empty-netter, to seal a 5-2 victory for the Bruins over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.

The B’s jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two periods, only to see the Leafs chip away with a pair of goals to start the third. Winning goalie Tuukka Rask withstood a Leafs’ barrage to maintain the lead before Recchi clinched the win with a power-play goal at 17:23, tipping in a feed from David Krejci.

Krejci scored the eventual game-winner with a highlight-reel breakaway in the second, exploding through the neutral zone and deking Vesa Toskala before stuffing it in to make it 3-0.
