Bruins rip Jets

Torey Krug made up for an early miscue in the best way possible Saturday, by tallying a pair of goals and assisting on another in a 4-1 Bruins (28-12-2) win over Winnipeg (19-20-5) at TD Garden.

Krug, who gave up the puck in the B's zone in the first period which directly led to a Dustin Byfuglien goal, bounced back to assist on Daniel Paille's game-tying strike in the first and score two goals of his own in the second period.

Reilly Smith netted the Bruins' fourth goal in the third.

What they'll be saying: The B's are a clean 2-0 in the New Year but things are about to get a tad more difficult thanks to a three-game, Pacific Coast road trip which features games against Anaheim Tuesday, Los Angeles Thursday and San Jose next Saturday night.
