This year's NHL playoffs have, by any measure, been terribly exciting.

But the Bruins and the Lightning set the bar even higher tonight.

Boston barely held off Tampa Bay in a wild 6-5 finish at the Garden, evening the Eastern Conference finals at 1-all.

It had everything. Scoring (lots of it). Goaltending (for about the last 3 minutes, by Tim Thomas). Odd-man rushes (and more odd-man rushes). Playoff beards. The birth of a star in Tyler Seguin. Steven Stamkos being Steven Stamkos.

The gauntlet has been tossed. There are around 20 games left in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs. Can any top what we saw tonight in Boston?

How could they?

And how long until Game 3? Forget Heat-Bulls. This is the series of the year.
