Can Patriots keep rolling?

A little more than a month ago, the Patriots were licking their wounds after a 28-14 drubbing at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

Things looked bleak in Foxborough. New England was 1-1, the defense was a mess and Miami and Baltimore were looming on the schedule.

Things aren’t looking so down now, are they?

The Pats have turned things around to an almost unbelievable level. They followed the loss at New York with high-scoring wins over Buffalo and Miami, then flipped Randy Moss to Minnesota for a draft pick.

Many figured that would derail the offense entirely.

It didn’t — New England knocked off the powerful Ravens, 23-20, last Sunday.

So what can stop this Patriots team, now that it’s rolling along?

Who knows. But San Diego — a strong home team known for slow starts in recent years — will be the next to try.

The Chargers sport a top-tier passer in Philip Rivers and a defense that’s overachieving almost as much as New England’s.

If the Pats pass this test, it might be time to start thinking Super Bowl.
