It’s been a long time since season four of “Mad Men.” (Since the last
episode aired, AMC has managed to run two full seasons of “The Walking
Dead.”) In case you’ve forgotten where we left all the familiar faces of
Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, here’s a handy refresher.
Don Draper
May have saved the firm with the bold gamble of dropping Lucky Strike
and taking a very public anti-tobacco stance. Dumped brassy psychologist
Faye in order to get with his gorgeous-yet-toothy Canadian secretary
Megan, a move approximately 0% of “Mad Men” fans approve of.
Peggy Olson
Finally began to assert herself in the boys-club atmosphere of the SCDP
office. Picked up a revolutionary boyfriend with a keen interest in
sexual role-playing but a less-than-keen interest in women’s lib. Rode a badass bike.
Roger Sterling
Impregnated Joan in a steamy post-robbery public tryst. Revealed his
latent biases against both vanilla ice cream and the Japanese during
dictation sessions for his memoir and a meeting with Honda executives,
respectively.
Pete Campbell
Slowly, slowly became a less reprehensible human being. Took an interest
in the Civil Rights movement (if only for the business opportunities it
provided) and covered Don’s behind by dropping the Defense Department
account.
Joan Holloway-Harris
Impregnated by ex-lover Roger Sterling. May be forming an emotionally rewarding SCDP girl-alliance with Peggy. Starred in this famous .gif.
Lane Pryce
Borrowed money to keep SCDP afloat. More importantly, fashioned a belt
buckle out of steak and impersonated Godzilla during a lost weekend with
Don.
Bert Cooper
Quit/retired at the end of the fourth season. Will he be back?
Harry Crane
Completed the transition from lovably oaf to skeezy failed pickup artist so subtly that we didn’t even know he was doing it.
Ken Cosgrove
Evolved from Sterling Cooper chipmunk to SCDP good guy. Slowly becoming Peggy Olson’s platonic work husband.
Teddy Chaugh
Took delight in his role as Don Draper’s nemesis. Will continue to have a nigh-unpronouncable name.
Betty Draper
Continued her lifelong battle against her better nature. Appears to be
lightening up through marriage to two-time Most Boring Man Of The Year
finalist Henry Francis.
Henry Francis
Still not quite clear what he’s gotten himself into.
Sally Draper
Unconsciously chose her new stepmom when she warmed to Megan over Faye in the SCDP office. Discovered masturbation. Fell down.
Bobby Draper.
