CC still looking for No. 20

At some point next month, CC Sabathia and David Price might oppose each other with the AL pennant on the line.

Last night, they gave an incredible preview of how that might unfold in another type of best-of-seven as they combined to throw 229 mostly brilliant pitches while trading zeros for eight innings. The game ended too late for this edition.

The first of seven contests between the Yankees and Rays that figures to decide the AL East featured Sabathia and Price at their best. Sabathia, searching for the first 20 win season of his career, allowed two hits, struck out nine and retired 12 in a row at one point. Price gave up three hits and struck out four.
