Celtics allow 38 fourth quarter points, fall to Lakers

The Celtics were looking good going into the fourth quarter, but were outscored 38-18 in the final stanza to fall to the Lakers 101-92 Friday night in Los Angeles. With the loss they remain winless on the road against Western Conference teams this year.

Jeff Green and Brandon Bass led the way with 21 and 20 points respectively for the C's, while Gerald Wallace and Jared Sullinger added 12 despite the loss. Rajon Rondo was limited to just six points, although he did had 11 assists in the loss.

The Lakers had a balanced attack in their comeback win with Pau Gasol, Jodie Meeks and Chris Kaman each posting 16 points.

There is no time to dwell on the loss for the C's as they will be back in action Saturday night (10:00, CSNNE) in Sacramento against the Kings.

What they'll be saying: It was a tough loss for the Celtics as they had their worst fourth quarter of the season. It was the Lakers bench which did the majority of the damage as they scored 63 of the 101 points. Each loss seems to get more and more frustrating for the Celtics as they just cannot put a full game together and remain in the cellar of the league's standings.
