Celtics fall to Pelicans

Even though the Celtics got back to Boston just after 1 p.m. local time Friday due to the snow storm, they said it would not have an impact on their game Friday night. Whether it had an impact or not, the C's fell to the New Orleans Pelicans, 95-92, at TD Garden. It was their second loss in as many nights and third straight overall.

The Celtics had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but Jared Sullinger missed a contested 3-pointer. Avery Bradley paced the home team with 22 points, while Brandon Bass and Jeff Green each had 16. Sullinger also finished in double-figures with 13.

New Orleans was led by Anthony Davis who had 23 points in the win.

The C's will return to action Sunday (7 p.m., CSNNE) when they travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder.

What they'll be saying: The short turnaround may have affected the Celtics' shooting as they shot 35 percent from the field, including 24 percent (7-for-29) from 3-point range. Conversely, the Pelicans shot 50 percent from the field, guiding them to the win. There was a scary moment early in the fourth quarter when Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson and Celtics forward Gerald Wallace appeared to bump heads and Anderson needed to be taken off the court on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital to be evaluated for a possible cervical stinger.
