Celtics: Rajon Rondo suspended 2 games, Kevin Garnett fined

Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended by the NBA for two games for his involvement in Wednesday’s near-brawl between Boston and Brooklyn at TD Garden, according to Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge on WEEI Thursday.

Rondo shoved Nets forward Kris Humphries following a hard foul on Kevin Garnett. Rondo and Humphries were tangled up and ended up falling into the first three rows of fans behind the basket.

Garnett and Brooklyn’s Gerald Wallace were also involved in a brief shoving match during the skirmish and both were fined. Garnett was docked $25,000 while Wallace received a $35,000 hit.
