The Richmond Spiders host the George Mason Patriots in an Atlantic 10 showdown tonight at 7 p.m. ET at the Robins Center. This is the first of two meetings between these conference foes.
George Mason is coming off a 79-63 loss to VCU on Feb. 2 that snapped their five-game winning streak. They are 13-9 overall with a 7-2 conference record and are second in the Atlantic 10 behind Davidson.
Junior guard, Justin Kier leads the team with 14.7 PPG on 49.1% shooting, 6.8 RPG, and a total of 40 steals on the season.
The Patriots are third in the A10 in field goal percentage shooting an impressive 45.4% as a team. They are also the third best team at defending the three-point line; they hold their opponents to shooting just 30.2% from behind the arc.
Conversely, Richmond is 8-14, 2-7 in the conference and is 12th in the A10. They are coming off a 66-58 home loss to La Salle on Feb. 2 to drop their home record to 4-8.
Sophomore forward, Grant Golden is third in the A10 in scoring with 17.3 PPG on 50.3% shooting. He also leads the team in rebounds and blocks, he averages seven rebounds per game and has a total of 21 blocks this season.

The Spiders are the worst rebounding team and worst defensive team in the conference; they average just 29.1 RPG and let their opponents shoot 46.5% from the field.
One of their strengths is that they know how to take care of the basketball; they average just 10 turnovers per game which is the second lowest in the conference.
