The VCU Rams visit the George Washington Colonials in an Atlantic 10 clash tonight at 7 p.m. ET at the Charles E. Smith Center. This is the first of two meetings between the Rams and Colonials this season.
VCU is 15-6, 6-2 in the conference and is coming off impressive back-to-back wins against A10 opponents. The Rams are third in the Atlantic 10, behind Davidson and George Mason.
Tonight's contest won't be easy for the Rams. They have struggled on the road this season and have a 3-4 road record to show for it.
The Rams have a ton of strengths; they are the best defensive team in the A10. They hold their opponents to 38.3% shooting from the field and 26.4% shooting from behind the arc. They also force 16.4 turnovers per game which is the most in the conference and they are the third-best rebounding team, pulling in 37.1 RPG.
Junior guard Marcus Evans leads the team with 60 assists, 37 steals and scores 13.7 PPG on 41.1% shooting.
George Washington is 10th in the Atlantic 10 and is 7-14 overall with a 3-5 conference record. The Colonials are coming off a 79-61 win over Fordham in their last contest to snap their three-game losing streak.

The Colonials have been struggling in many different ways this season; they are third to last in field goal percentage shooting 40.9% from the field, second to last in free throw percentage shooting 66.8%, and they score the fewest points in the conference by totaling just 65.5 PPG.
Junior guard, D.J. Williams leads George Washington with 14 PPG on 40.4% shooting.
