Although his father would probably have much preferred him to go to USC, Cordell Broadus has chosen to join the football program at longtime cross-town rival UCLA.

Speaking during an announcement on ESPNU, Broadus said “I feel that UCLA is the best fit for me. I had the offer since my nine-grade year, so I had a great connection with the coaches. I just want to play in front of my family and keep ballin’ out on the field and get a great degree.”

Where Broadus was going to play college football was subject to much speculation and even a five part ESPN documentary series called “Snoop & Son: A Dad’s Dream.”

ESPN reports that, “In his senior season, Broadus caught 39 passes for 602 yards and 11 touchdowns”

What did his father have to say? “It’s been awesome just watching him step into manhood and make a decision that he’s comfortable with.”
