The Jets are likely to be without two big names as wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery and right tackle Damien Woody both remain uncertain for the Thanksgiving game vs. Cincinnati.
Cotchery missed last Sunday’s game after suffering a “slight groin tear” two weeks ago in a Week 10 win at Cleveland. The wide receiver made a remarkable diving grab on the overtime play where he suffered the injury.
“Jerricho obviously having to get in and out of breaks, all that kind of stuff, there’s still a chance,” Ryan said. “Not ready to rule him out completely.”
This past Sunday, Woody injured right knee in what is being termed by the Jets as a MCL injury in the second quarter of the win over the Texans. Woody limped off the field and did not return, being replaced by Wayne Hunter. On Monday afternoon, Woody had a MRI and the result only showed swelling and no structural injury.
Ryan said that if Woody is healthy, he will play against the Bengals and he’s not holding back on the player for next Sunday’s game against New England.
“I guess there’s always risk of further injury, but our focus is winning this game,” Ryan said. “It’s not about resting players. If Damien can go, then we’re going to play him.”
