Doc Rivers will be the head coach of the Boston Celtics in 2013-14, according to multiple reports Thursday.

Rivers signed a five-year, $35 million contract extension in 2011 but given the current, question-filled state of the franchise heading into the offseason, it was unknown whether or not Rivers would be back.

“We’ve got a coach everybody would love to have,” Celtics president Danny Ainge told the Boston Globe.

Rivers has been the head coach of the Celtics since 2004, when he took over for then-interim coach John Carroll.
