Trades, especially blockbuster ones, don't happen often at the NFL's trading deadline. However, maybe this year is different. The St. Louis Rams were able to acquire a big-time target from the Denver Broncos Monday afternoon, in wide receiver Brandon Lloyd.
At his Monday press conference, Eagles coach Andy Reid admitted that the team is working the phones, as the league's trade deadline looms. All trades must be completed by 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Eagles are reportedly shopping veteran defensive end Juqua Parker.
“I’ll tell you, everybody’s calling everybody right now," Reid said. "That’s what takes place. So to tell you that we haven’t talked to anybody, I can’t tell you that. People, that’s what they’re doing now, and they’ve been doing here for a little bit. You know, nothing’s taking place.”
Eagles GM Howie Roseman took in Sunday's win from the press box. He appeared relaxed as he kept close tabs on the Giants-Bills game on his iPad. Reid said he wouldn't be "surprised either way" if the trade deadline passed and the Eagles didn't make any moves.
ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION. Meanwhile, one move the team is poised to make is adding Brandon Graham to the 53-man roster. The second-year defensive end Tweeted that he'll be back after the bye. There is speculation that the team may try and convert him to linebacker. Reid wouldn't say what the exact plan for Graham was.
“Listen, he’s coming off major surgery, so you want to bring him back in and let him get back into football here, and that normally takes a little bit of time," said Reid. "You have to be realistic about it and then go from there."

SIGN GUY. Last week, some fans hung a banner across from the NovaCare Complex reading: Andy The Times ... To Go. Two Eagles players — Jason Kelce and Evan Mathis — asked the guys to take the sign down. This week, the fans were back at it, posting a sign that read: Thank You! & Your Welcome!
Reid was asked about the "Sign Guy" at his press conference.
"I appreciate that," the coach said.
INJURY UPDATES. LT King Dunlap (back spasms) is getting better, according to Reid. DE Brandon Graham will practice when the team returns from their bye week. DE Trent Cole and LT Jason Peters are about a week or two away in their recovery. Offensive line coach Howard Mudd had hip replacement surgery.
With no game this Sunday (bye week), Reid has given the team the entire week off to rest up and clear their heads. The team's next game is Oct. 30 against Dallas.
"I want them to get away and take a deep breath, and get their bodies and minds back where they’re able to relax," Reid said. "Then, get them back here and get them to work again. I think the bye comes at a good time."
