Fantasy football: Latest news on injuries that could impact Week 5 (Julio

The list of injuries after Week 4 are enough to derail more than a couple fantasy football teams. Will Derek Carr be back anytime soon? Are Julio Jones and Odell Beckham still nursing injuries? Who will be the Vikings’ top running back with Dalvin Cook out for the year?

Here’s the latest on those injuries and more and how you should react with your roster:

Derek Carr, QB, Raiders

The Raiders’ season hangs in the balance as their quarterback will miss between two and six weeks after fracturing his back. Look for DeShuan Watson to be a hot commodity on the waiver wire.

Julio Jones, Muhammad Sanu, WR, Falcons

With Sanu, Atlanta’s No. 2 wide receiver expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury Jones owners — and Falcons fans — can breath a sigh of relief. Jones has a hip flexor but should not miss any time because of it, and will become a more integral part of the Atlanta air attack.

Odell Beckham Jr, WR, Giants

Just what the 0-4 Giants need — another injury to their best player. According to Ben McAdoo, the star wideout has several injuries and remains questionable for Week 5.

Chris Carson, RB, Seahawks

Carson’s tenure as Seattle’s featured back was short lives as the rookie had left ankle surgery Tuesday, ending his 2017 season.

Jordan Matthews, WR, Bills

Once again, the Bills wideout is injured but this one is more series, as the former Eagle will need surgery on his thumb and will miss at least a month. Look for Zay Jones on waivers — if he’s still there.

Ameer Abdullah, RB, Lions

The Lions won but may have lost their best running back, at least potentially.

“I rolled my ankle up a little bit,” Abdullah said. “I was ready to go back in, but circumstances kind of changed a little bit when they got the ball back only two mins left and we’re flopping on the ball. Maybe it was a good thing.”

Ty Montgomery, RB, Packers

Considered day-to-day with a rib injury, Montgomery should be able to go next week against Dallas, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting.

Andrew Luck, QB, Colts

Still yet to play in 2017, Indy’s star quarterback intends to get back into practice. He likely won’t be on the field when Week 5 kicks off Sunday but he is working his way back.

Jack Doyle, TE, Colts

Another Colt is likely out too, as the top right end for the Colts is in the concussion protocol.

Sam Bradford, QB, Dalvin Cook, RB Vikings

Day-to-day is the prognosis for Bradford’s knee. His return, if it happens in Week 5, will be dampened by the team’s loss of Dalvin Cook. With Jerick McKinnon also injured, fantasy owners should grab Latavius Murray ASAP.
