Targets avoids fantasy football: Quincy Enunwa Kerryon Johnson Isaiah Crowell

Fantasy football advice for Week 3.

Enunwa the Clear Top Option for Sam Darnold

Quincy Enunwa has emerged as the top target for rookie Sam Darnold through two weeks, and he should maintain that position moving forward. Through two games, Enunwa has tallied 13 catches for 155 yards and a touchdown, and is leading the Jets with 21 targets so far. Enunwa may still be on the waiver wire given the fact that he likely started there to begin the season with Robby Anderson poised to be the top wide out in for the Jets heading into the season. Enunwa doesn’t have Anderson’s game-breaking speed and big-play ability, but Enunwa is a much better possession receiver who creates separation regularly. In PPR formats especially, Enunwa needs to be owned in all leagues, and he makes for a great trade target if he’s on one of your league mates’ benches. Keep On Kerryon

Kerryon Johnson was a preseason standout for the Lions, but he hasn’t yet proven himself a viable fantasy asset yet. The potential is undoubtedly there though, and he’s someone you should be targeting off the waiver wire or in trades now, before he breaks out and becomes impossible to obtain. Johnson has “feature back” written all over him, having already caught eight passes through two games in addition to a healthy 4.62 yards-per-carry on his 13 rushing attempts. The problem so far has been volume–with Theo Riddick and LeGarrette Blount on the roster and used regularly, Johnson hasn’t had the opportunity to truly shine. However, his production is going to soon be impossible to ignore, and he should siphon off carries and catches from his two teammates in short order. Target him in trades now, as he could be a game-changer in fantasy lineups later in the season once the Lions coaching staff gives him the opportunities he deserves.

Crowell and Powell Cannibalizing Each Other

Isaiah Crowell benefited from the Jets Week 1 blowout of the Lions, blasting out 102 yards and two touchdowns on the ground on just 10 carries.

He came crashing down to Earth in Week 2 with just 35 rushing yards on 12 carries, and once again watched Bilal Powell receive a majority of the receiving work out of the backfield. Crowell and Powell both have their own set of skills, but Powell’s lends itself to more consistent fantasy production. As good as Sam Darnold has looked through two weeks, the Jets are still likely to be playing from behind often this season, and in those games it’ll be Powell who sees a majority of the backfield touches. Crowell will still likely carry flex value every week, but if you’re relying on him as your RB2 you may want to seek an upgrade.
