Let the soap opera begin. Brett Favre met with Vikings coach Brad Childress yesterday to discuss the quarterback’s future.
Favre gave no firm indication of whether he planned to retire and no deadline was set.
“It’s not a deal where I need to put a gun to his head and say, ‘I need to know in a week, two weeks, two months,’” Childress told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “He’s earned his time to be able to step away from it and talk to his family and figure out what he wants to do.”
Favre told ESPN that it was “highly unlikely” he’d return following last Sunday’s 31-28 overtime loss in the NFC championship. If he returns, he would make $13 million in 2010.
