Ferris Bueller, Honda star of early Super Bowl ads

Several Super Bowl ad spots have hit the internet a little early, which is great news, because now it means we don’t actually have to watch this weekend’s game (kidding).

The most notable, perhaps, is a Honda commercial starring Matthew Broderick as a grown-up movie star version of his iconic character, Ferris Bueller. Broderick plays hooky and then drives around town in his CR-V, getting into all sorts of Bueller-inspired mischief. Not quite the Ferris Bueller return we’ve been longing for, but it’s a start.

Cadillac showcases the new ATS sedan in its Super Bowl. The automaker promises the car will give the BMW 3 Series a run for its money and tells skeptics to “go to Green Hell.” (The Nürburgring’s nickname is “The Green Hell.”)

Hyundai channels “Rocky” theme song “Gonna Fly Now” with 200 real employees who took voice lessons for the commercial. Who knew car salesmen and auto mechanics humming together could be so inspiring?
