Foxboro vs. the Krafts

There’s been a communication breakdown between the town of Foxboro and the Kraft family.

First, Patriots owner Robert Kraft tried to convince Foxboro to allow a resort casino to be built near the stadium. They didn’t go for it and let people know about it.

Now, Kraft is filing a lawsuit against the town, according to The Boston Globe, due to a dispute regarding two billboards on land owned by Kraft near Gillette Stadium.

A federal judge ordered the town to allow members of Kraft’s group to speak at a town meeting last night.

There remains a chance that Kraft could one day get the go-ahead to build the casino, but the growing tension between the town and Kraft could halt those plans indefinitely.

“Unfortunately, what I see is the relationship with the Krafts getting worse and worse,” Foxboro Selectmen Chairman Larry Harrington told the Globe.
