‘Game 7s are Game 7s’

The Bruins and Lightning will meet in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight at the Garden (8 p.m., Versus, 98.5 FM).

Boston coach Claude Julien knows the stakes. But — in true Julien fashion — he seems to be refusing to get too high or too low.

“I think Game 7s are Game 7s,” he said today, “whether it’s the first round or the third round. There’s an opportunity here to move on to the next round. So that to me is what Game 7s represent, no matter where you are in the playoffs. Our guys just have to enjoy this whole process. … There’s 27 teams right now that would love to have the opportunity that we have in the playoffs right now. This is one of those days where I think if you don’t enjoy the moment you’re wasting a pretty precious day.”

The day, of course, is probably more precious for the Canucks, who get to sit back, relax and have a beer while watching their potential finals opponents beat the hell out of each other. Now that sounds like a good time.
